Type I Interferon Signaling Accelerates Liver Regeneration by Metabolic Modulation in Noninfectious Conditions

چکیده
Type I interferon (IFN-I) has a well-known function in controlling viral infections, but its contribution hepatocyte proliferation and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) formation remains unclear. Mice deficient IFN-α receptor expression whole mice or only hepatocytes (Ifnar−/− IfnarΔliver) were used to investigate the role of IFN-I signaling cell cancer liver. Silymarin Accelerates Liver Regeneration after Partial Hepatectomy
Partial hepatectomy (PHx) is a liver regeneration physiological response induced to maintain homeostasis. Liver regeneration evolved presumably to protect wild animals from catastrophic liver loss caused by toxins or tissue injury. Silymarin (Sm) ability to stimulate liver regeneration has been an object of curiosity for many years. Silymarin has been investigated for use as an antioxidant and ...
متن کاملHypoxia of the growing liver accelerates regeneration.
BACKGROUND After portal vein ligation of 1 side of the liver, the other side regenerates at a slow rate. This slow growth may be accelerated to rapid growth by adding a transection between the 2 sides, i.e., performing portal vein ligation and parenchymal transection. We found that in patients undergoing portal vein ligation and parenchymal transection, portal vein hyperflow in the regenerating...

BACKGROUND Type I interferons (IFNs) are common therapeutics for several diseases, including viral infections and multiple sclerosis (MS). Although numerous studies have implicated type I INFs with the production of autoantibodies and the development of certain autoimmune disorders, interferon beta has not previously been described in association with dermatomyositis, to our knowledge. Previous...

متن کاملCentral role of ULK1 in type I interferon signaling.
We provide evidence that the Unc-51-like kinase 1 (ULK1) is activated during engagement of the type I interferon (IFN) receptor (IFNR). Our studies demonstrate that the function of ULK1 is required for gene transcription mediated via IFN-stimulated response elements (ISRE) and IFNγ activation site (GAS) elements and controls expression of key IFN-stimulated genes (ISGs). We identify ULK1 as an ...
